OOTD: Schiaparelli Pink

SoFA holds Fashion Fridays every week where students and staff get to dress up according to the given theme. Last week, it was Schiaparelli Pink!

Sooo, I wore a pink skirt and to highlight it, the rest of my out was black/ dark.

And since this is the Fashion Underdog, guess where I bought that leather jacket? UKAY-UKAY! Haha. Got it for 500 though, which is still pretty steep compared to standard Ukay prices. Makati Ukay places can get quite expensive. Buuuuut I still love it nevertheless. It’s real leather and I’m a sucker for anything with leopard spots in it, so yeah :))) Oh and the leopard top I’m wearing? DIVI! Got it for 50 bucks. Aaaaah I love being thrifty!

Shout out to my friend, Dots Yap! HAHA. We were supposed to drink out that night but we ended up having a photo session instead! I was basically her mannequin and she taught me about poses and angles and shiz. I swear she’s like Benny Ninja.

In other news! I’ve been so busy lately I almost have no time for blogging 😦 BUT I am planning and organizing a photo shoot though which I will feature in my blog probably at the end of this month. So just watch out for that πŸ™‚

First Day Funk

I took a leave from school last term. This term, I’m glad I’m back! If you guys didn’t know, I study in SoFA, that fashion school in Makati. πŸ™‚ They transferred last year to a new bldg, more posh and modern I have to say πŸ™‚

Aquarium school LOL. Kinda awkward to lounge around where passers-by easily spot you through a huge glass window :))

That glass box is actually a library inside πŸ™‚

Aaaaaand my battery died before I could take more photos 😐 Anyway, I’ll try to post some more next week! πŸ™‚

Btw, I wouldn’t even bother posting an outfit shot. First day and I was running late so I literally just threw on a pair of jeans and a top and fled out the door. Not a way to make a good impression on the first day >.<

Yes, personalized notebook FTW :)))

By definition, fashion is….

So my class that day was Clothing Evolution. Our professor made us watch a music vid featuring the evolution of dance AND fashion. Check it! πŸ™‚

More posts soon!

After a week of not blogging, I’m back!!!

Sooooo, I went with my cousin to help her shop for a graduation dress. I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything because I’m trying to save money. But dammit! It’s SO hard to say no to good deals and finds!

Check out this red cardigan from Forever 21! I forgot the original price but it was on sale so I only paid 355php for it. Sweet deal, right? πŸ™‚ Actually, it’s 2 for 625php but I decided to get just 1 :p

I dunno if you guys have heard of the Chick Flick store but I absolutely love their accessories! I discovered it as an online store but they have branches in Ruins BF and Cinderella in ATC and Glorietta. Love this necklace that I bought! Gold leaves plus feathers. πŸ™‚ It’s 330php which I think is a good price compared to those exclusive and imported accessory stores. A necklace like this in those store will probably cost more than 500. You guys can check out Chick Flick’s online store here. Just a lil side note though: Their stuff in their actual stores are more expensive than their stuff in the online store. I blame it on expensive mall space rents. :\ But the thing is, they have a wider range of goodies to choose from in their actual stores than in their website. Haha. Anyway, if you guys are from the south, I suggest you just go to their stall in Ruins. They sell their stuff their the cheapest compared to their branches in Glorietta and ATC. πŸ™‚

Sooo put them together and I have an OOTD post!

Cardigan from Forever 21| Dress from (i forgot! lol bought that like 3 yrs ago)| Belt from People are People| Shoes from Parisian| Necklace from Chick Flick| Rings from Divi

Let me bombard you with more photos! :)))

How do you style a plain white dress? Simple! Just pile on some accessories, add a pop of color and slip on some pretty heels and you’re good to go! πŸ™‚

And the skirt goes swoosh hahaha. Windy day! And yes, I just shot in my front garden. lol

30 php each in Divisoria. Waddup! Btw, pardon my icky nails! Haha. I’ll get a manicure tomorrow!

Belt from PRP. This was a gift from my sista from anothah mothah πŸ™‚

I haven’t been posting a lot recently. Been so busy and exhausted latelyyyyy :\ Oh btw! I’m back in school again! First week of a new term started just last week. Will blog about it after this one πŸ™‚

Who lives in the South? There are plenty of stores that are on sale in Alabang Town Center! You guys might wanna check that out. My fave store that I checked out that had a sale was Payless Shoes. Dropped prices to like 600-700 pesos. O__O I didn’t have money that time though. Too bad. I’ll probably go back for it next week.

Thanks to my personal photographer/sister, Regina, for taking the photos! lol

STOP SWEATSHOPS. IT AIN’T SWEET.

Early last year, I took a class wherein I learned all about fair trade and sweatshops. I have to say, that lesson was really an eye opener for me.

What is a sweatshop?

“A sweatshop is a factory where workers are subject to extreme exploitation, including super-low wages, no benefits, filthy or dangerous working conditions, denial of their worker and human rights.”

Our project was to create a fashion product that is related or would increase awreness regarding these issues. Went with the ever-so-classic statement shirt πŸ™‚

Fact: Sweatshop workers are 85% composed of young women.

Fact: They earn as little as 1/4 of how much income they really need to survive.

Fact: Several big name brands in the fashion industry are guilty of using sweatshops to make their products.

The real ‘fashion victims’ are not those who dress ugly, rather it is those who are victims of these very unacceptable labor conditions. I may not have the power to stop sweatshops, but the least I could do is to help spread awareness.

For more info, click this link and play the youtube video! That was the only vid I could find that was short, comprehensive and not boring. lol. It was made by someone waaay younger than me. Props to her for doing something! πŸ™‚

I seriously don’t know who reads this blog, but if at least one person reads it and cares, then that’s more than enough for me!
